SOUNDS OF AFRICA YOUTH EXCHANGE CAMP

 

This is a fantastic opportunity to show  the wealth of  diverse culture, scenery and activities that South Africa has to offer to International visitors.  Due to time constraints this year, we are looking  for 10 South Africans  and 10 International Students from the ages of 17 to 20  to join us for what promises to be an exciting adventure .

Here is a list of some of the activities included in the itinerary: (understanding that this is a camp based on a Musical theme, as well as cultural,  and educational activities etc.)

  • Visit to Maropeng and Sterkfontein Caves ( The Cradle of Humankind);

  • Visit to Gold Reef City Theme Park;

  • Underground Visit to a mine (situation permitting);

  • Visit to the Lion and Rhino Park;

  • 2 – 3 day visit to Mafikeng where the Students will be hosted  in a camp at the Pilansberg Game Reserve, learn about Rhinos and various wild life.  You will be hosted by the Lions of Mafikeng;

  • The Students  will also participate in various Lions’ Zone or Regional projects in different regions.

  • Each morning they will have a music/ singing/dancing practice session which will culminate in performances according to the itinerary.  We hope to see many Lions from the different areas at this event. The youth will showcase  their musical talent and what they will have learnt during their stay at the Camp.

Details:

  • The Camp will be based in Magaliesburg and there will be at least 3 Lions in attendance at all times.

  • The Bus Driver will be a registered  Driver in possession of all necessary documentation to carry passengers.

  • The cost per Student will be R4500 which will include all accommodation, entrance fees, internal  travel.  Youth would be responsible for costs of travelling to Johannesburg  and back home. If possible, each Student should bring pocket  money for souvenirs etc.

Dates of  Camp:

  • Arrival at Oliver Tambo Airport : 22nd June, 2013

  • Departure from Oliver Tambo Airport : 7th  July 2013

Should any students need to arrive the day before, arrangements will be made to assist. This will also apply to those students who’s flights leave a day or two later.

 

Each Student must have proof  of  Medical,  life, personal  property and liability insurance to cover any and all contingencies for the duration of the Camp.
